The manufacturing process involved is the same as in Feldspar.
The crude quartz lumps are selectively washed & then fed into the Air-swept Continuous Ball Mill. Treated, dried quartz sand is ground in an iron free environment in the ball mills. Long wearing mineral grinding bodies and mill linings prevent metallic impurities caused by abrasion from getting into the material that is being ground. Quartz powder from the mill discharge is sized in one or more stages in air separators of various designs. Coarse material is fed back into the grinder.
Feed dosage and separator adjustment determine the granulation of the quartz powder to be produced. Finished products are stored in silos where they are protected from moisture. They are packed into the sacks & shipped. Production of our powder products are checked every hour through sieve analysis using an Alpine air jet sieve, where the result of individual grindings can be checked with the appropriate test sieves.
